FAQ
-
I've been to a Great Detectives show before, is it still the same show? It's not! We're debuting two brand new stories in 2024, completely new and unseen - but still featuring our favourite characters, Johnny Dollar & Candy Matson.
-
Why are the actors holding scripts, are they not rehearsed? The Great Detectives franchise is a loving tribute to 1950s radio plays and recordings. At the time actors performed for live audiences with script in hand, as the show broadcast via the radio. Our actors hold the scripts as props, but we assure you they are rehearsed professionals.
-
Is the show suitable for vision impaired people?Yes! While there are some physical components to the show, the stories can be fully enjoyed and completely understood without watching the performers.
-
How long is the performance?Approximately 70 minutes.
-
What is the age recommendation? The show is family friendly (there is mild sexual innuendo and audio violence), we recommend the show for ages 8+
-
Are smoke and strobe lights used during the performance? Not at all, this is a very relaxed performance. There are loud sound effects at times.
-
What if I am late for a performance?Latecomers can only be admitted at a suitable break in the performance, which is at the discretion of front of house staff. We urge all patrons to leave plenty of time to travel to the venue to avoid missing any part of the show. Please note, no refunds are issued to patrons arriving late.
-
Who are the authorised ticket sellers? If searching for tickets to Great Detectives online, you will see a number of re-sale sites advertising tickets, usually at a higher price than the official site. If you attend a performance of Great Detectives with a ticket purchased via an unauthorised re-seller such as Viagogo, eBay, Gumtree, or others, you may be refused entry. For the Great Detectives 2024 tour there are various official sellers, depending on the venue. Darwin Fringe sells directly for shows at the Darwin Entertainment Centre. Country Arts SA sells directly through their site for Mount Gambier, Port Pirie, Whyalla and Renmark. Murray Bridge Town Hall sells directly for the performance in Murray Bridge and all other shows are on sale via HumanTix. All appropriate links are in the ticketing/tour page of this website.
